Biography

Founded in 1918 Kyoya somemonoten (dye house) is one of the few dyehouses left in Japan that design, dye and sew all their products. Located in the castle town of Ichinoseki, a small team of skilled craftspeople create every single product on offer. Originally producing costumes for traditional Japanese festivals, Kyoya still keep Japanese culture and traditional dyeing techniques at the core of all their designs. Whilst always mindful of tradition, Kyoya Dye House doesn’t feel bound by it, introducing innovative new techniques to better their products.
