The Hobonichi HON has a hardcover design already attached to the book. It’s designed to make you feel like you’re carrying around a favourite book, which you can pull out at any time to make notes no matter where you are. The book has A6 size pages with plenty of space to write and paste, and features a page per day, so the contents are the same as the A6 English Original Book
The botanical illustration, by botanist Dr. Tomitaro Makino, of cherry blossoms drawn with precise lines to the last detail is the first illustration of “Yamazakura,” meaning “mountain cherry,” which is the opening illustration of the first volume of his “Flora Japonica” book published in 1900. Dr. Tomitaro Makino’s drawing of the Yamazakura cherry tree as a symbolic Japanese plant is characterised by its dazzlingly detailed line drawings. The rough cloth cover is inspired from the image of a canvas.
As a special exclusive only for the HON, this techo comes with a pencil board. The board is A6 size and clear, with 5mm grid lines printed across it. There are measurements printed along one side in 1mm increments, which allow for it to be used as a ruler. This new type of pencil board has a pen holder attached to it, so users can store pens by their clips.
