This tea is produced by Marukyu Koyama-en in Kyoto. Koyama-en is one of the most prestigious tea makers in Japan, they have been producing green tea since the 17th Century. We import these teas directly from Kyoto.
This Obukucha (Good Fortune Tea) from Marukyu Koyamaen is a blend of fragrant Sencha and Gyokuro.
Gyokuro is shaded green tea, and often regarded as one of the highest grades of Japanese tea. The inclusion of Gyokuro in this Obukucha brings an exquisite mild and delicate flavour to this New Year’s Tea.
This tea is sold loose – we prefer loose teas as they are environmentally friendly, and the tea leaves can swim in the tea pot producing an elegant flavour as well as the distinctive fragrance of green tea.
