The New Bag for Life

We are all trying to be more ethical consumers. I know that I am definitely more concerned with the origins of my clothes than I was a few years ago. I am also really trying to cut back on fast fashion – I managed to go most of 2020 without buying any clothes (not too difficult as I didn’t have anywhere to wear them…). I’d rather spend a bit more on one item that’s well made and will last, than on lots of cheaply made things that will fall apart within a wear or two.

At NishuraEast ethical and eco-friendly products are very important to us – we literally ship our goods from Japan rather than use air delivery. That’s why we love companies like Kyoya and hoop HIROSHIMA. The bags from hoop are exactly what I mentioned earlier – well-made items that will last, and can be used for years, rather than going quickly out of style.

         

Each bag is handmade, and it’s easy to see the care and attention to detail that goes into every one. The canvas is so vibrant, making each bag a statement piece. They’re perfect to add a pop of colour to your wardrobe this summer. The Katate bucket bag is my favourite of the three (although the other two are gorgeous as well). There’s something about the simplicity of the shape and the way the shape changes when the bag is fastened with the magnetic clasp at the top.
