Story Series – Featuring Stalogy
In the rhythm of our everyday lives, it’s often the simplest objects that carry the most meaning. The familiar weight of a pen, the smooth turn of a notebook page, the quiet satisfaction of peeling off a sticky note. These are the tools we return to again and again—not for their flash, but for how seamlessly they work. This is where Stalogy stationery lives: in the details.
Founded in Japan, Stalogy’s name—drawn from “stationery,” “standard,” and “technology”—signals a quiet revolution in everyday design. It’s the work of Manabu Muzuno, a designer, whose philosophy is creating essential items that should have always existed. What remains is refined, beautifully designed purposeful stationery.
But the story doesn’t start with notebooks. It begins with adhesive science. Stalogy is produced by Nitoms, a child company of the century-old Nitto Corporation, an industrial pioneer with global reach and a legacy of innovation. Known for their award-winning work in clean adhesives and high-precision materials, Nitoms originally developed glues for cleaning tools—lint rollers, dust sheets, and more. That same clean-peel, non-damaging adhesive now powers Stalogy’s sticky notes and masking dots—reliable, gentle, and satisfying to use.
To complement these everyday essentials, Stalogy also created writing tools that match their paper’s unique quality. The 4Function Pen is a clever, multi-ink favourite—combining four colours in a slim barrel with a hidden rubber and mechanical pencil. Despite how fluid the ink is, it won’t smudge or bleed on Stalogy’s paper or sticky notes. And with refills available, these pens are built to last far beyond their first cartridge.
The notebooks themselves are where Stalogy’s philosophy shines brightest. The iconic 365-Day Notebook is a true companion for those who like to plan, reflect, and create on their own terms. It’s not dated—by design—allowing complete freedom to begin anytime, skip days, or pick it up only when inspiration strikes. Despite its page count, it remains incredibly slim, thanks to paper developed exclusively for Stalogy: thin, durable, and resistant to ink bleed.
For those who prefer a lighter option, the 1/2 Year Notebookoffers the same design and flexibility in a slimmer format. Alongside them, the New Vintage Notebook adds a nostalgic touch with thicker, colour-rich front pages—still with that signature flat-lay binding and clean, minimalist layout.
As many of these products begin to disappear from wider circulation, we’re especially proud at Nishura EAST to be a platform where they’re still celebrated and shared. It’s our way of preserving objects that, while small, carry great purpose—and great design.
