This cover was created with an embroidered work designed by embroidery artist and illustrator iyo okumi. okumi’s work features motifs such as animals, plants, and things that you can find in everyday life around you. The intricate embroidery is worked into fantastical and romantic designs that capture okumi’s unique worldview.
This cover comes in a muted, grey colour with a horse and rabbit opposing each other, as if they are on a playing card.They are ringed by a girl, a dove, a squirrel and some flowers. To finish off the piece, small bunches of wildflowers and leaves are embroidered into an elaborate border, a distinctive feature of okumi’s work. It is designed to resemble white lace for a classical feeling, completing this emblem that is both endearing and dignified.
