The Hobonichi HON has a hardcover design already attached to the book. It's designed to make you feel like you're carrying around a favourite book, which you can pull out at any time to make notes no matter where you are. The book has A5 size pages with plenty of space to write and paste, and features a page per day, so the contents are the same as the A5 English Cousin Book.
As a special exclusive only for the HON, this Cousin comes with a pencil board. The board is A5 size and clear, with 5mm grid lines printed across it. There are measurements printed along one side in 1mm increments, which allow for it to be used as a ruler. This new type of pencil board has a pen holder attached to it, so users can store pens by their clips.

In Waiting on the Chord, Kubota picks up the imagery of a previous work and further expands the world, expertly weaving a new story in this drawing.
