Hobonichi – Pencil Board | Keiko Shibata

£7.00£11.00

These pencil boards designed in collaboration with Keiko Shibata, an illustrator who lives in Kochi Prefecture on the Japanese island of Shikoku.

The A6 size “Upwind alpacas” design depicts the wind so strong that the alpacas’ long necks tilt. Their facial expressions are charming as they withstand the wind to keep themselves from being swept away. The back of the pencil board is white.

The A5 size “Swaying tulips” design illustrates mice in a tulip field playing in the wind; the wind has blown away one of them! The back of the pencil board is green.

The Weeks size “Wind gust during a Stay command” design depicts a strong wind ruffling the ears and whiskers of a beagle dog as it is trying to sit still as being told to “Stay.” It is touching to see how patiently it waits, even in such a situation. The back of the pencil board is orange.

On the reverse side, one side is labeled with millimeters to act as a metric ruler, and a “Today” tab on the corner marks the current page if you’d like to use it as a bookmark as well.
